How do I retire a Service?

Sometimes you may have a Service (Call Type) in your office that you no longer wish to use. To avoid issues with Billing and Payroll for existing schedules, once a Service has been used in your office, it cannot be deleted or removed from the Office's list of services in the Agency Office Module. You may, however, edit the service and change its status to "Retired."

A "Retired" status on a service has no effect on billing or payroll. It will not prevent you from using this service in schedules, authorizations and billing or payroll rates. However, if you use a "Retired" service to add or edit a schedule, authorization or rate, you will receive a warning that the service has been marked as "Retired" and its use should be discouraged.

To mark a Service/Call Type as Retired:

  • Go to the Agency Office Module. Click on the Home tab, then the Services (or Call Types) tool in the main ribbon.
  • Select the service you wish to retire. Click on the Edit tool.
  • In the Status field, choose Retired from the drop-down list. Click Save.
