How to Export People or Organizations from Companion

We can export people and organization demographic information to the following software packages:

  • QuickBooks (Customers, Employees or Vendors)
  • QuickBooks Online (Customers only)
  • Home Care Pulse (Clients and Caregivers that work with the exported Clients)
  • EZClaim (Clients)
  • Outlook
  • Excel (.xls)
  • Comma Separated format (.csv)

The Export Module is accessed from the menu at the top left of the Main Module.

From the Main screen click on the menu, then click Export People/Organizations under the Options sub menu.

Exporting People or Organizations

To export people or organizations, first use the Scenarios in the Find Area to limit down the list of people and click on the View Data button on the toolbar to load data into the grid. Then use the checkbox column in the grid to further fine tune the selection to the specific people or organizations you wish to export.

Once you have your people to export selected, select the desired software package or file format to begin the export.

To import or export data between QuickBooks and Companion, you must first have the QuickBooks Interface set up in the Agency Office Module.

During the import/export, QuickBooks must be running with the appropriate company file open, and the QuickBooks Connector program must also be running. This connector program can be started from the menu in the Main Module of Companion.

Troubleshooting Export Issues

The following items have been identified as issues that my prevent a person from being exported to a particular package. If you are having trouble exporting a specific person, be sure to at minimum check their demographic information including name, address, date of birth and SSN fields for correctness.

Home Care Pulse

  • Clients must have a phone number on their profile, have a current Active status and have a schedule within the last 30 days to be exported to Home Care Pulse.

EZClaim

  • Clients will not export to EZClaim if they do not have an address specified on their profile.

QuickBooks

  • Caregivers may not export to an American version of QuickBooks if their address is outside the United States.
  • Caregivers may not export to QuickBooks if their ZIP Code is in an invalid format.
  • Caregivers may not export to QuickBooks if their SSN is in an invalid format.
