To setup Holidays in Companion, you will enter the Holidays observed by your office, identify the date each Holiday is observed, and indicate whether special billing and payroll rate factors should apply on these dates.

Establish the Master List of Holidays Observed by Your Office

Go the User Defined Information Module and click on  All Options then hover over "Payroll and Billing" then click Holiday tool from the menu.

Click the Add tool in the toolbar of the Main Display area to open the Holiday Category window.

Complete the following fields:

  • Description: Enter the name of the holiday.
  • Image: Click the magnifying glass to the right of the field to choose an image for this holiday.
  • Sort (optional): Assign a number to prioritize this holiday in your list. If 0 is used, then holidays appear alphabetically in the list.
  • Note (optional): Add a note about this holiday.

Click Save button.

Configure Holidays

Go to the Agency Office Module and click on the Review tab. Then click the Holidays tool.

Click the Add tool in the ribbon of the Main Display area to open the Holiday window.

Complete the following fields:

  • Holiday: Select the holiday observed by your office.
  • Date and Hours: Choose the date your office observes this Holiday, what time on this date the observance begins, and how many hours from this time the observance lasts.
EXAMPLE: Enter 12:00AM and 24 Hours if all schedules on this day should be considered as Holiday Coverage.
  • Bill Factor: Select the appropriate Bill Factor the system should use to calculate billing records for schedules on this holiday.
  • Pay Factor: Select the appropriate Pay Factor the system should use to calculate payroll records for schedules on this holiday.

Now the Holiday(s) appear on the calendars for clients, caregivers and office staff and may affect billing and payroll if you bill or pay holiday rates.

IMPORTANT: As not all holidays occur on the same annual date, you will have to add the holidays (and their dates) observed by your office in the Agency Office Module, including Holidays that fall on the same date every year.
