Enhancements & Bug Fixes
- Home Care Pulse Integration:
- Clients that have been inactive can now be re-activated in Home Care Pulse during the sync.
- When only syncing selected clients from the Export Module, don’t perform any removal/deactivation of anyone that isn’t selected in the export.
- Fixed an issue with exporting a Client’s cell phone as their primary phone when that was their only contact.
- Home Care Pulse exports now only include the first phone number on a person’s profile in the export instead of exporting multiple numbers with a semi-colon separator.
- If the Client’s Responsible Party has no phone number, the responsible party information was not being exported.
- If the Responsible Party has a cell phone and no primary phone, use the cell as the primary phone.
- Fixed an issue with generating the Care Plan Report in the Client Module where the tab was saved in a favourite layout.
- Fixed a display issue with the “Classic” style calendar that could cause some over-midnight schedules to not be drawn on the calendar when the height of the day on the calendar is very small.
- Attributes weren’t saving correctly on Event Reminder configurations.

Bug Fixes
- Performance fix for missing rate validation in Finalize step.
- Fixed an issue with checking remote server for license information.
- PDF calendar emails now have fonts embedded within the PDF file to address an issue discovered with Google Drive’s PDF viewer on updated Android devices.

New Features
- Incidents (Human Resources Module)
- Incidents can be used to record information similar to a Documented Event, but only able to be accessed by your HR staff.
- Use to document sensitive HR information for your Caregivers and Office Staff such as performance reviews and disciplinary issues.
- New tool in "Ready for Billing and Payroll" tab of the Schedule Review module to Maximize Billable Hours - when Bill/Pay hours are under what was actually worked (usually when Billing scheduled hours when actual is over scheduled) and the billed hours are under the maximum authorized - increase the bill/pay hours up to what was actually worked up to the maximum authorized.
Enhancements
New Screen Reports grids:
Detailed Required Dates, showing all history of required date entries. The existing Required Dates grid summarizes the most recent expiration date for each required date category.
Chat (SMS) history.
- When exporting a pivot grid to a data grid, layouts can now be properly saved for the resulting data grid and the advanced Additional Columns feature also works here now.
Importing people (Import Information Module) enhancements and fixes:
- Speed and performance improvements
- The count of how many people were imported was not correctly reported.
- Excel Import template can now specify the Status of the imported person. (Still defaults to “Active” if not included or unrecognized.)
- Excel Import template can now specify the Category of the imported person. (Still defaults to “Unspecified” if not included.)
- Excel import was cutting off phone number if leading ‘1’ was included.
- Import now takes into account the office’s Name Format settings in Agency Office Overrides.
- Updated Excel template files included for People and Organization imports.
- Importing from Excel was setting birthdate to 1902 when not specified in the spreadsheet.
- Added Documentation menu with Required Dates, Notes, Extra Information, Office Notes, Email, tools to Contact and Organization Modules for extra functionality.
- Daily Schedules and Actual Hours grids added under the Scheduling menu in the Client and Caregiver modules.
- Ease of use features for editing Authorizations (Contracts) from Schedules:
- If adding a schedule for a Client that has never had an Authorization created yet, now automatically prompts to add an Authorization.
- New tool in the option menu beside the Authorization field on the Schedule Edit screen to edit the currently selected Authorization.
- “Maximum Dollars” Co-billing only allowed up to 999.99. Increased limit to 999,999.
- Schedule Instructions – new field on Schedule that will show on all Caregiver Calendars.
- Ability to cancel multiple schedules at once in the Schedule Review module.
- Removed ability to filter on status in Actual Hours, Finalize and Billing and Payroll Modules. (Users should not filter on status here to avoid missing final billing or payroll for recently Inactive clients or caregivers.)
- New schedule scenarios in Schedule Review:
- Verified Schedules (with client signature from mobile app)
- Non-verified schedules
- Schedules with no tasks performed
- Schedules with missing required tasks performed
- Schedules with extra tasks performed
- Schedules with any differences between tasks required and actually performed
- New Scenario in Messaging Module to show Clients with Cell Phones.
- New option on Required Dates Letter report to show/hide the actual required date information and just create the mail merge for people with expired/expiring dates.
- Time on calculated Travel Time records in Billing/Payroll is now set to the actual time that the travel would have been for, rather than the time of the schedule it’s attached to. More accurate reporting and order of processing of Overtime hours when including travel in OT.
- Billing Rates on third-party Payers may now be made Client-specific.
- When adding new person, now able to attach both the referral organization and person directly on the add of the new person.
- Better lookup scenarios for adding recipients to an email.
- New optional custom Legal Message (disclaimer, policy or other text to include at the bottom of the form) and Submit Message (additional text to display on the confirmation page after submitting the form) can be added to the Client Inquiry/Caregiver Application form setup.
- Home Care Pulse - Set Responsible Party on Client profile and use that in exports from Companion to Home Care Pulse. (Note: If Responsible Party exists in Home Care Pulse but not Companion, the export will not remove it from Home Care Pulse.)
- Added scoring values to Caregiver Compatibility categories, for better ranking in Caregiver Suggestions. Also supports these "magic numbers" for the scoring:
- 1000 - ONLY send caregivers with this type of compatibility. If at least one caregiver is listed on the client with this compatibility, then scheduling any other caregiver will cause a "Not Preferred" error on the Schedule.
- -1000 - NEVER send this caregiver to this client. If the caregiver has this type of compatibility, then scheduling this caregiver will cause a "Not Preferred" error on the Schedule.
Bug Fixes
- Telephony/E-Time Cards:
- When reprocessing End-Only E-TimeCards, the system was not attempting to fix missing client/caregiver information. (For example, if a missing phone number has now been added to the client.)
- Telephony was not properly recognizing Office Staff from the ID entered on the call.
- Alerting required an SMTP email server name to be entered in the Email setup in the Agency Office Module to function even if alerts were being sent via SMS text message. (Cloud option)
- Fixed an issue when saving a schedule created off of an E-TimeCard where it could report that the schedule already has an E-TimeCard attached.
- Reporting:
- Applied “Printed Reports Module” security against Automated Reports in Office Staff Module.
- “Interview Questions” section of the Care Plan Report now groups by and includes the Topic as a subheading.
- Care Plan Report did not exclude Inactive relationships in the Emergency Contacts and Individuals sections.
- Removed Referral Source (Method), Referral Source Type columns from Billing and Payroll by Referral Analysis Report pivot grids. (Referral Method deprecated from the system in 5.4)
- Changing the configuration of the options on a report password wasn’t taking immediate effect when re-running a report that had previously been run with that password.
- Font Size/Style selections when running Mail Merge reports now properly affect the address information on the report/letter.
- The Detail options for a report weren’t showing up the first time running a report if the previous report had none to show.
- Scheduling:
- Can no longer select an orphaned Caregiver in a schedule.
- Fixed an error viewing the Client or Payer’s Billing Rates from the Edit Schedule screen.
- Fixed an issue with the Score column not sorting correctly in the Caregiver Suggestion grid.
- Travel distance and time columns weren’t sorting correctly in Caregiver Suggestion.
- Fixed a case where if you created a new schedule from an E-TimeCard and then immediately went to the calendar and editing that same schedule, viewed the E-TimeCard and then closed the schedule by clicking Cancel (not Save) the Actual Hours could be lost.
- “Show Caregiver” in Calendar Content options had no effect when un-checked. (Would always include the caregiver named in the printed calendar.)
- Adding events when the calendar was in the "Work Week" view didn't always create the desired type of event.
- Context menu in the "Work Week" calendar view wasn't always the right one, showing the "Edit" event menu when on an empty day.
- Billing and Payroll Modules:
- Call Types (Services) marked to be excluded from overtime were still influencing the weighted average for determining the overtime rate(s).
- Exporting Vendor profile information to QuickBooks wasn’t including the name in the ‘Bill From’ address in QB.
- Updating Customer profile information in QuickBooks during invoice export was causing a saved credit card no. to be masked.
- Fixed an issue with the grouping/consolidating of records with the same rate in the PayChex export file due to subtle rounding differences beyond the 3 decimals actually output in the export file.
- Fixed some missing icons on navigation buttons in the Payroll Module.
- Applied Agency Office Module security to Billing and Payroll interface setup links under the File menu in the Billing and Payroll modules.
- Turning off a Pop-up Alert didn’t take effect until you restarted the program.
- Fixed an issue with Care Plan Notes not auto-saving properly when switching between Home/Health Evaluation categories in the Care Plan in the Client Module.
- Fixed a case where some hidden messages could be included in the count of un-viewed or un-acknowledged messages to your office in the notification pop up. Also limited this notification to messages received in the last three days.
- Missing Help link for Human Resources Module.
