Breaks

What are Breaks?

Breaks represent (generally) un-paid break time that the caregiver takes during their schedule. For example, you can use Breaks in Companion to record un-paid lunch time or have caregivers accurately record sleep time on live-in schedules.

Breaks can be set up at the Call Type/Service level, and can be configured to either adjust or be ignored by billing and payroll independently. Some Breaks can also be configured to automatically be applied to schedules, which could be used for example if you wanted to schedule your office staff for a 9 to 5 shift with a 30 minute un-paid lunch break.
