Change the Caregiver on a Recurring Schedule

To edit or change the caregiver a single event (single schedule):

Simply edit the single event as if it were any normal stand-alone event. Change the caregiver or make any other desired changes to the individual event and save your changes.

NOTE: When you edit a single schedule created from a Recurrence Master, it will automatically become Isolated from the recurrence. This means if any change is made to the Master Recurrence that affects all the schedules created from it, this manually edited event will not be automatically changed.

To edit or change the caregiver in a Recurring Schedule (and all schedules created from the recurrence):

Option 1 - From the Calendar:

  • Open the Calendar. Select the person for whom you want to edit a recurring schedule to display their calendar.
  • Move your cursor to a schedule created from the Recurrence Master you wish to stop. Right click your mouse on the schedule and select Edit Recurrence from the context menu.

Option 2 - From the Recurring Events list

  • Open the Relationship Management Module and select the person for whom you want to edit a recurring schedule.
  • Click on the Recurring Events tool under the Scheduling drop down menu in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  • Select the recurring event you want to stop and click on the Edit tool in the toolbar.

THEN. . .

The Setup a Recurring Schedule screen will open.

  • Change or remove the caregiver in the caregiver field.
  • Click on the Recurrence tab at the top of the Setup a Recurring Schedule screen. Click the Recurrence Pattern tool to view the current Recurrence Pattern.
  • To set the point at which the change to the recurrence will take effect, change the start date of the recurrence pattern to the date the change should take effect.

Changing the start date changes the point at which new schedules will be generated but will not remove any schedules before the new start date.
  • Click Save.
  • Then click Save on the Setup a Recurrence Schedule screen to save the recurring schedule. A prompt asks if you wish to reset the start date.  If you have already manually set a start date above, select No. Otherwise select Yes to reset the start date.

If you are utilizing Option 1, the start date for the changes you are making will be reset to the date of the schedule you were on in the calendar. If you are utilizing Option 2, the start date will reset to the beginning of the recurrence so you will want to manually adjust the start date of the recurrence pattern to be the date you want the changes to start taking effect.
  • The system will indicate how many schedules were created. A prompt asks if you wish to check for errors with the recurrence and a screen opens to advise if there are any isolated schedules.
The schedules will be created/adjusted with your changes from the specified start date forward to the end of the recurrence. You will see the revised recurring schedules in the calendars and other schedule module screens.
